Message from the Author:

There are many things that bring joy to my life: art, music, literature, cooking, and my family…among others. I have always maintained the philosophy that one should go out of one’s way to try as many new experiences as possible, whether you think you will like them or not. How else can you discover the next great joy of your life? I experienced music by singing, composing, playing instruments, teaching guitar, performing on stage, and meeting memorable characters in the field of music. I experienced art by trying every media that was available to me: painting, drawing, photography, craft work, and even construction. My interests in history and travel drove me to explore archaeology, and to take a trip to Egypt to satisfy my curiosity. Writing prose and poetry became a passion for me even before I attained a degree in English. As for gourmet cooking, it is a form of art that is deeply satisfying on so many levels!

I have been blessed in this lifetime with a loving family who has filled my life with pride in their accomplishments and joy from their very existence. Despite all of my own personal sorrows and hardships, it is my family that has helped me through all of it. They supported me in everything I have achieved and all that I will achieve in the future. There is so much more to experience and enjoy in this world before it is time to depart. My fondest desire is to publish my book of poetry which my son loved dearly and encouraged me to finish before his untimely passing on April 25, 2016.
